Kalen Smith Counseling

Compassionate support when you need it most

Hi, I’m Kalen

I’m a counselor and art therapist with a deep commitment to offering compassionate, personalized support. My goal is to provide support that’s tailored to your unique needs, helping you find the healing you are looking for.

My work focuses on supporting teens and young adults through a range of challenges, including:

  • Developing a balanced and positive relationship with food and body

  • Coping with emotional challenges like anxiety and depression

  • Understanding and navigating neurodiversity

  • Navigating transition

  • Healing and coping with grief and loss

  • Moving past the need to please others

  • Overcoming perfectionism, self-criticism and more…

Much of my work with clients focuses on cultivating self-compassion, learning to slow down and be more present, learning to set boundaries and take care of yourself from a place of kindness. No judgement or shame here.

I will meet you wherever you are in your journey, I’m here to walk with you and support you getting where you want to be.

If you're ready to take the next step in therapy and think we might be a good fit, let’s find a time to connect. Feel free to reach out to schedule a free initial consultation and start your journey toward feeling your best.

What would working together look like?

I believe the best place to start is by getting to know one another. My first and arguably most important goal is to foster a safe, supportive space where you feel comfortable—not just with me as your therapist, but with me as a fellow human. When you're ready, we can work together on the challenges or goals that brought you to therapy.

As a clinician, I generally take a laid-back approach to how I conduct therapy, following your lead rather than adopting more prescribed forms of therapy. It is of the utmost importance to me that we not only work through the challenges that bring you to therapy, but also laugh together, create together, and celebrate every win along the way.

Reaching out for support is a brave step—an important step. I am glad you are here.

“People only seriously consider change when they feel accepted for exactly who they are.”
